Kristen Chavis - Assistant Age Group Coach

I graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a B.A. in Psychology in May 2012.  I completed my first two years of undergrad at Campbell University where I swam on their Woman’s Varsity Swim Team.  When I transferred to UNC I joined the sorority Sigma Sigma Sigma.  I have been a water safety instructor, swim coach, and lifeguard since 2005.  I have coached a summer swim league team for the Country Club of North Carolina since 2006.  I was on the Sandhills Sandshark Club Swim Team from fourth grade through my senior year of high school.  I also swam for my middle and high school.  My high school and club team swim coach truly encouraged me to continue my swimming career at Campbell.  I enjoy working with children and have a deep rooted passion for swimming.  I am looking forward to working with the CHYSC for another year.

Jeremy Miller - Assistant Age Group Coach

Jeremy is originally from Charlotte, NC and will be graduating May 2014 from UNC with a degree in Business Administration.  Following graduation, he will enter the Masters of Accounting program at the Kenan-Flagler Business School at UNC.  He swam for 11 years competitively throughout both middle and high school with Cannon School in Concord, North Carolina as well as NOMAD in Huntersville, NC.  His favorite strokes were butterfly and backstroke.  Jeremy has most recently coached with his neighborhood swim team for 4 summers in a row as an assistant coach where they were able to win four league championships in a row.

Jillian Heywood - Assistant Age Group Coach

Jillian began her 8-year swimming career as a member of the Henderson County YMCA swim team.  While at West Henderson High School, she swam for the varsity swim team for four years and was a regionally and stated ranked swimmer.  She also served as captain of the women’s varsity team her senior year.  She has 4 years’ experience as a certified swim instructor and as a lifeguard.  Jillian is currently a student at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill studying biology and premed. This is her second year coaching for CHY.
