Volunteer for 2014 Y-States!

Hospitality Donations! (password: SWIM)

If you are unfamiliar with the jobs, Here is a brief description of the responsibilities:

Timers:  This is pretty self-explanatory.  Start and stop watches in order to time the swimmers races.  Write down the swimmers times.  (involves a bit of standing, but it gives you a great view of the action.)

Ribbons:  Put Labels on ribbons for the swimmers placing 1st - 10th overall in each event.  This is a soothing, meditative task for most of the weekend.

Heat Sheets:  Responsible for the sale of the Heat sheets.  Making change for a $20 was never this much fun.

Hospitality Set-up:  Working with Andrew and Debbie Tate, setting up the hospitality room, picking up food donations.  Most of the job is done before the meet, and right before mealtimes.

Hospitality Attendant:  Helping Volunteers, Coaches, and officials with their sustenance, refilling ice and snacks, and preparing snacks and drinks to carry around the pool area for all of the volunteers, coaches and officials.  You're in a prime spot to chat with officials coaches and other volunteers.

Computer Room:  Helping run the meet, printing results, printing labels, setting up relays, and mastering the amazing meet manager software.  This job takes place in an air-conditioned room.

Clerks:  Responsible for getting the 8 and unders behind the blocks for their events during the 10 and under sessions.  This job keeps you moving and interacting with the swimmers.  During the 11 and over sessions, responsible for scratches, positive check-in events, and things of that nature.  No problem.

Runners: "Run" behind the blocks to retrieve completed timer sheets for each event and bring them to the computer room.  Its Great exercise, and helps to keep off that pesky "winter weight".
